Summer Discovery at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts. offers students the opportunity to explore Boston, its surrounding cities, and participate in a wide array of academic course and activities. Located in the heart of Boston, Northeastern University is the “Ultimate Urban Campus”. It is a university transformed - from a night school at a local YMCA in 1898 to one of the nation’s top private research institutions. Northeastern has spent $500 million on new facilities including classrooms, a world-class fitness center, and eleven new residence halls. “When people talk about the hot places to go to college in the Boston area, Northeastern is now mentioned along with Harvard and Tufts Universities and MIT,” hailed The Chronicle of Higher Education.

Home to 14,000 undergraduates from all 50 states and 125 countries, Northeastern’s tree-lined 67-acre campus is situated within walking distance to many of Boston’s cultural treasures including the world-renowned Museum of Fine Arts, Symphony Hall, stylish Newbury Street with its trendy shops and cafes, and Boston’s landmark building, the Prudential Center. It is also close to legendary Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, the Charles River and much more.  The signature of Northeastern University is its world-renowned Cooperative Education Internship Program (Co-op). Strategically located in the heart of New England, Boston is just a short distance to such beautiful destinations as Cape Cod and New Hampshire beaches.  Students will participate in a variety of activities and excursions including trips to Hampton Beach, New Hampshire, Water Country, the Basketball Hall of Fame, Six Flags, Fenway Park, an optional excursion to New York City and much more.
